NMB Bank has donated 50 desks, 180 sheets and washbasins worth more than Sh11 million. The donation was handed over to the leadership of Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital and 50 desks to Mnadani Primary School in Dodoma, as part of a return to the community.
Speaking at the brief handover ceremony, NMB Central Region Manager – Nsolo Mlozi said the release of the aid was part of the process they have set themselves in return for the benefits they have received from the community.
Mlozi said that for the past year, Dodoma region has been the main source of aid from NMB as they have so far received help with various items worth 120 million shillings.
Explaining the aid, Mlozi said from the city of Dodoma that there is a significant increase in population due to the city’s growth, the 180 sheets, will help reduce the challenges in the hospital including the maternal and child ward. Regarding desks, he said they had chosen Mnadani Primary School after receiving an application to become a school despite being in the city center but with a severe shortage of desks.
About 50 buckets donated he said they will be used for hand washing as part of maintaining hygiene to deal with various outbreaks of diseases including corona virus infection especially at public gatherings.
Receiving the support, Dodoma Regional Chief Physician Dr. Best Magoma commended NMB Bank for the support and said the act shows how the Bank always continues to show the public how close they are to the community in supporting the Health and Education Sectors in the country.
